When can I enroll?

If you have Original Medicare Part A and Part B (or will have Original Medicare Part A and Part B as of the effective date of your supplement) you may enroll during one of the following enrollment periods:

Initial enrollment period (ICEP) – 7 months surrounding your Medicare eligibility: This is the 3 months before you turn 65, the month when you turn 65, and the 3 months after.

Annual election period (AEP) – October 15 to December 7. The period you can enroll in or change your plan. New coverage will begin January 1 of each year, after you’ve enrolled.

Special enrollment period (SEP) – A common SEP is for those covered under their employer’s health plans who retire after 65. In this case, you can enroll with no penalty if coverage becomes effective within the appropriate time frame. Contact us for details.

Open Enrollment Period (OEP) – Medicare Advantage Plan, participants only, may choose to change their contract from January 1 – March 31 each year.
